Aidan McCarthy, a junior at Cal Poly, placed second in the men's 8-kilometer race in 23:41.6 to help the Mustangs place six athletes in the top 15 at the Big West Conference Cross Country Championships at Blacklake Golf Resort in Nipomo, Calif. McCarthy helped the Mustangs secure back-to-back men's team titles and capture a 19th Big West crown in the past 25 championship meets.
